moving zsphere 'mannequins'

hi -

I want to create some really quick zsphere ‘mannequins’ that I can pose and view from required angles to use as reference for a comic book. I won’t be sculpting them, but I may use adaptive skins to render out quick shadows.

I can make and pose the figures fine, but I’m having difficulty in moving the entire thing around the scene, particularly if I want to rotate the figure in the case of it lying down, being thrown or whatever. If I preview the adaptive skin I’ve found I can use the transpose line, but when I revert back to the zspheres it flips back to the original position, then if I do move the figure entirely in it’s zsphere state (by pressing ALT), the adaptive skin messes up when I preview it again. So then I’m buggered both ways.

I realise I could position the camera to give the correct orientation, but often I’ll want more than one figure in the scene so I can see how the shadows might interact etc.

thanks.

Use Offset, Rotate and Size with the desired axis selected in the Tools Deformation submenu.

thanks. hmm, yeah… that kinda works. It’s not a very ‘interactive’ way of doing it, and if I do move the the adaptive skin with the transpose line it still pops back to the original position (i.e. he last after I’ve used the deformation sliders) if I revert to the zspheres… I’m probably trying to do something that the software really isn’t meant to be used for anyway… but thanks
