moving chain of zspheres

I have a couple of questions . I have an arm made of several zspheres, how do I lock the spheres together so I can move from the wrist to elbow keeping all the spheres aligned. Hope that makes sense.

Is it better to save the document or the ztool when working on a character?

peace

edit: Its me, I seem to be getting control of the interfaces now. I’m new to tablets and Zbrush.

I cant say about the moving the chain, I forget it may be control and click between the chain using move. Also, just to be safe always save a ztool, just because documents have a habit of screwing up. If you primarily working on a character this at least preserves your sculpt where you left off.

im not sure what you mean but Try clicking the links between the z-spheres or the rotate tool.
As for saving, always save as a tool because documents are 2d and can not rotate

Thanks for the help guys. I will save as a tool from know on. A few interface battles but at least I know how to use F key and bring the model back, I thought the software was crashing or my system was crashing the software.

I’m using a tablet which makes using zbrush much easier I think. I found that working with a mouse was really fighting the interface. When I first tried it the software was very frutrating but I decided to get a tablet and have a serious go at this amazing software. My eyes goggled when I saw what Zspheres can do. Now ZBrush is another software I have to spend time learning, but what results. I come from C4d which is cool for most things but not this type of organic modeling.

if your amazed by what zspheres can do now, check out the video on the front page about zspheres 2. Painting topology directly on to your zspheres and being able to manipulate the entire model with those spheres, simply put: amazing. I had a conversation with my teacher in my zbrush class about how the line between artist and modeler is finally being blurred. At this point(or when 3.5 arrives) you may not need to know as much as you may have in the past about modeling straight from a box. Personally, I have been waiting for this kind of idea to come together. All you really need now the the artistic talent and the know-how on how to use zbrush. It just makes me happy quite simply.

My ultimate aim in using ZBrush is character animation. I want to be able to build characters from the botttom up no cheating with someone elses base meshes. I want the entire creation to be original. hat’s why I decided to spend some time here and with ZBrush. I want to take ZBrush into C4d and rig and animate. With GoZ coming as well I think I made a good choice. This software is very exiting and fun to learn.
