I drew a rectangular mask out side of a shadow box and I want to move it to a position inside the box whilst retaining the shape of the originl rectangle. Does anyone know how to do this please?
I’m unaware of a means to simply ‘slide’ or move a mask in a shadow box or on any mesh, once you’ve released the ctrl key. Prior to releasing the ctrl key you can press the spacebar, in addition to continueing to hold down the ctrl key, and move the mask.
What I would try if I were you is to try and recreate that rectangle as another mask within the confines of the shadowbox. A method of being able to have complete control over the masks size, configuration and location in the shadowbox is to create it in a image editing program like PS or Gimp.
This small totorial might be able to help you with that if you haven’t seen how that’s done before.

I know that that’s not what or exactly how you would like to resolve this but hopefully this might be an acceptable alternative if no one has a better method.

That’s not exactly true. Once you have the mask drawn, without taking your finger off of the LMB, you can let go of Ctrl and then still scale the mask by moving the mouse, or move the mask while holding down Spacebar or holding down Alt to invert it.
I agree zber2. I misstated the actual processes at that stage.
It seems like, from his question, and the fact that he had actually typed a question here in ZBC that it was likely he had already released all keys and was still hoping to be able to move the mask.
That was so helpful from both u guys; I’m on my way
