Move Brush to work with full radius, not only if the center finds a point?

A small detail that I find my self wishing was possible. Maybe it is and I don’t know, but I love the way the Shift brush works in 3Ds.max. Specifically, the way you can adjust the silhouette of your model, using the full radius of the brush.

In Zbrush you have to find a point on the surface with the center of the brush to be able to do this, and It doesn’t feel as natural to work with. It’s easier to control what I’m trying to do with a light touch in Max, using the outer edge of the brush, instead of using the entire fall off in Zbrush.

If there is a way to do this in Zbrush, please explain and if not, this is a request.

Thank you

clicking on a blank place only cause viewport angle change.so I don’t think it can be done in edit mode. But I think it can be done in projection master mode. because projection master temporary change 3d mode to 2.5d. you can try this but. I don’t. know is the result good or not.

Right, but there are ways around it.

  1. If the radius is touching the model, you get the move function. If all of the radius is outside the model, you get the orbit function.

  2. Enable the special ability for the move brush, then use the special zone around the viewport where only camera functions work if you wanted to orbit. Also you have the camera control using the Right mouse button.

  3. use a hotkey or Middle click to use the special ability.

  4. Use the eraser on the pen…

  5. Let the user choose

yes there is still room for improvement. sometime just a little change can make a huge improvement.
