Move Brush 2 & Ring shift behavior?

I just watched the new brush videos in the Z Classroom area.
It shows how with Move 2 and Move Ring when you press the shift button in conjunction with Move it will give you interesting shapes that are good for hard sculpting. Well that isnt working for me. When I do it it just sort of flattens to a direction.

Am I doing something wrong? As it does not appear that the right things are happening.

In a related question I have been checking out ways you can mod brushes.
Is the shift action that is supposed to be happening, can that be activated somehow?

shift=smooth
i think you want ALT

which video in particular?

It is in the Z Classrooom page in the Planer collection of videos. One of those vids is about “Move” brushes. That is the one I am talking about.
Your supposed to press “shift” right after you start to use the particular move brush. Looks great in the video.

When I press “alt” it does something different I get a mound thing that comes up flush with the surface which is a tiny bit more towards where I am trying to go but Nothing like what is shown in the video. From what I understand Move2 and Move Ring are the ones that are supposed to work that way. It looks so cool in the video that I would love to be able to do this.

watched it, tested it, works fine for me, although for the circular mounds in the video you want ALT, which he should be saying, but Shift for the other secondary adjustments.
try with a larger brush size and more subdivisions maybe.

Yeah ok, I remembered hearing him say in the vid to play with the settings.
But somehow I did not realize that was specifically how to get the different shapes. Alt also seems to be the Z inversion in addition to setting the diameter on the surface.

Thanks for your response.
