Move all details in the higest subdivision with maya blend shape (lowest subd)

so ive been diving into the world of facial rigging with a friend of mine who is an amazing rigger. I’ve looked a lot of rigging tutorial and this one is really the one that we both want to look like in the end (this is for film, so a lot of thing will be sculpted using texturing.xyz displacement map)

its all joint based based on facs which is amazing.

So my question is:

  1. I have a idle face, sculpted with all the details
  2. I have a face rigged and skinned to some poses
  3. I want to move the details based on that pose in zbrush 3d layers

how do i do that?

cuz imma add some more layer for the wrinkle maps which then i export as displacement map.

I think what you want are tension maps. So google that. You’d have your neutral face sculpt, a wrinkled/squashed version and a stretched version, and then the rigger would dial in the information from those depending on what the joints were doing.

There is also animated displacement. I haven’t used tension maps but I have used this. I did it for a basic facs set up. But my rig was all blend shapes with set driven keys just set to controls, no joints, so I don’t know if it’s right for you. But you could look that up also.
