Superb works C4th your definitely advancing quickly, I thought I might let you know that the price you are paying for your wax prints seems to be very high.
An industry wide level of around USA$80.00 is about a good general starting point for most regular size rings, and the cast into metal should be very cheap too. Here in NZ its costs only 5-10 dollars to cast plus metal costs So perhaps you should look around some more.
Most printers can handle larger size files too 30 to 60 megs is not unusual for highly detailed works.
You can get higher resolution prints too depending on what machines are used and also envisontech growing machines can grow models in a ceramic material that you can take a rubber mould from directly
this ceramic material can be filed and cleaned up with sand paper just like metal. This removes one whole level of resolution loss in the production cycle.
Keep up your wonderful works and thanks for sharing the tutorials.

thanks for the info.

however more recently ive been getting them cheeper than that by sending in bulk that way its a larger run and easier for the companys i use. plus im trying to keep my production in the UK, though i have the feeling if this starts to go realy big ill have to export to china or somthing ¬_¬

thanks again and watch this space for my next batch coming in a week or so

TADAR… my new pieces are back from the printers… i will be putting them up here as i go.

hope you like it :smiley:IMG_2878.jpg

Haha Amazing !!!

mm it will look even better when polished and such… just need to take a mould off it

That looks like it’d be a pain to polish O.o Really cool, though!

there are ways

i think barrel polish and pickeling will do the trick

Great ideas and new opportunities. Thanks for the inspiration.

here are 2 more from my recent print collection both of these are more conventional in their design but still have that Zbrush flare. both are in silver though i may cast a gold version of both.

hope you all like them

ok here we have 2 more of my latest prints. the most intresting being the new crocodile which will when its finished have a gem of some kind in the mouth.

the other wolf ring ive designed with more personality than the first wolf ring ive done. this one has much more bite in it. with any luck my last print run before earls court will arrive next week so i will show those here as well.

so watch this space

These are all looking great c4th. Actually I quite like the patina they have unpolished. It especially suits the dinosaur bones.
Got any more shots of them polished up?
(Nice day on the Isle of Wight - surely you’re not in the workshop!)

hehe… i live in my workshop. and more photos? not yet… im still traking rubber molds off the masters. as soon as i have more photos i will post them.

C4th

Also been working on learning ZBrush of Jewelry purposes, though I’ve got a long way to go compared to you.

How much detail would you say shows up and you can get away with putting in? And what’s the smallest or thinnest you’ve managed to get things to remain castable? (I was taught to measure in metric I believe, mm sizes would be helpful if possible.)

ummm well the trick with detail is to realy exadurate it. because by the time its been polished it will lose some. tho barreling seems to avoide this. as for the thinest…

ive done like the tips of teeth which are very thin, but if you mean for like design wise thinest ive gone to is .5 - .3 mm for internal areas and much thiner for line edges. the other thing to remember is if you realy want to go thin is you can alwase file it down once its cast.

hope that helps

Really nice job on creating this fine pieces. Would be really cool if you could make a tutorials on how you use 3Dmax to do stonesettings. Beside zbrush I’am also a max user:-) really like to do some jewellery and interior design myself
