motionbuilder riging for zbrush model hows is it done?

Iv searched and found no step by step tutorial on how to rig a empty mesh from zbrush with bones ready to animate. What im after is for somone good enougth to write out or record a ABC step by step on how to do this or even better use camtasia to record it being done.

It would be nice to see it being done from export stage to final riged model.

Once I can do this I will learn how to animate in MB id like to share some video tutorials for others alike to want to take that next step into animation.

Thanks.:+1:

Rigging is a very complicated process with a lot of ins and outs. I would recommend the following learning materials:

http://www.learning-maya.com/
http://www.thegnomonworkshop.com/dvds/kin01.html and the other skinning DVDs.

Hope that helps and good luck. Rigging is a lot of fun once you understand the mechanics of what your program is doing. If you using Maya I would recommend learning the Hypergraph as much as possible.

As I understand it, you will need a 3D animation app like Cinema 4d that is compatible with Motionbuilder’s bone rigs. You create your mesh in zbrush along with normal and displacement maps and export to your 3D app of choice. See the huge amount of info in the displacement and normal map threads; http://www.zbrushcentral.com/zbc/showthread.php?t=20310
You export the low poly mesh for ‘skinning’ in your 3D app.
Your 3D app must be FBX compatible. You apply the FBX standard bone rig to your model and export to MotionBuilder where you apply your motions.
Then you export your MotionBuilder motion data back into your 3D app and render the animation.
for an excellent dvd tutorial on the whole process go here:

I have looked at the process from xsi riging and yes does take some time and looks that way as well but in motionbuilder the process apears faily short compared as I did have some help a while back and should take no longer than 20 min to get it done. I just need the full step by step as im missing somthink somewhere. Thanks for the links
.
If need be I can post the details on what im doing so far.
