Mother Goddess Adi Parasakthi Sculpture

MOTHER GODDESS ADI PARASAKTHI SCULPTURE

Amma_wallpaper.jpg

COMPUTER SPECIFICATIONS:
1.7GHz AMD Athlon Processor
256MB SD RAM
256MB NVidia GeForce FX 5200 Video Card

DETAILS:
(Total polygon count with sub-tools = 1.1 million polygons)

This is a sculpture of Mother Adi Parasakthi. I modelled the low polygon version in Maya and then put in the details in ZBrush. Mother’s model is 470,000 polygons approximately. On my system, ZBrush can support a maximum of 500,000 polygons per sub-tool and putting all the sub-tools together, about 1 million odd polygons can be supported to the point of hanging my system and crashing Zbrush every 15 to 20 minutes.

I tried poly-painting on the face separately, but until I get a better computer, I won’t be able to paint the entire model. I decided to leave it as a sculpture for now and as it is, it does good in my portfolio.

Close up shots from different angles will be posted in my portfolio soon. For now, enjoy this picture. The image size is 1024X1024 pixels. If anyone wishes to use it as a wallpaper, please go ahead.

All comments and criticisms are more than welcome. God bless you all.

u have to improve a lot and this is not at all good its seems u r a beginner.

Say what? A bit rUde perhaps?.. Seriously  If you have nothing better to say then please don´t press the “Submit Reply” button.

I ran into your post here while searching for AMD workstations for Zbrush…
I am looking for a new computer since i am having a lot of trouble making satisfactory progress in my artworks with my current
3.4 single core intel
with an Nvidia 6800xt
and 4 gigs of RAM with /3GB switch and /PAE for window’s boot.ini

but seeing your work done on the system you did it on i must applaud! Having trudged through learning zbrush and modeling workflows independently since 2006 and having used several iterations of various computer systems all pretty slow… i know what its like…

so…great job… solid model.
I am looking forward to seeing what you can do with a faster system!

Thank you very much for the encouragement, Aleks. I appreciate it a lot.

I tried poly-painting the model, but my system can only handle part of the model without crashing. Then I saved the model with the poly-painted colors and reloaded ZBrush. The .ZTL file got corrupted. I wanted to add bump map textures, ornate carvings, nice pillars and stuff, but I’ll have to wait till April end to do that. My brother is coming home then and he will get me a super duper laptop.

I have another model in the works till then and I’ll post pictures of it as and when I can. I am being a bit more careful this time, trying to learn from my previous experience. Besides that, the next model is not ornament heavy, so I should have more polygons to work with… I hope.

With regards and best wishes,

Jaidev.
