Morph

Would someone make a tut on how to do a morph. I don’t know the first thing about that subject. Thanks

basically you need a prog that does 3d morphing. Then you just need a start object and an end object. Both objects need the same amount of polys. The best way to do it is to take a mesh, modify it, then take both of them and use them as morph targets in your fave 3d app. If you want to do 2d morphs, try after effects or elastic reality from avid.

hope that helped

ZBrush allows you both to easily create morphs for use in other programs and now with the demo (and soon the commercial version) you can create and apply morphs directly within ZBrush.

The first step is to create your base model. Click Tool>Modifiers>Morph Target>StoreMT

Second, sculpt changes for it.

Third, Click Tool>Modifiers>Morph Target>Switch. This stores the current shape as the morph target and switches the geometry back to the original shape as the base geometry.

Fourth, use Tool>Modifiers>Deformation>Morph to morph between the two geometries. (This slider is inactive until you press StoreMT)

:small_orange_diamond: Note: You don’t HAVE to click Switch before applying the morph. But if you don’t, then the new shape will be the base geometry, and the original shape will be the morph target. I just find that it’s handier in my mind to switch the two.

:small_orange_diamond: Note: After the morph has been applied, it often requires repeated applications at 100% in the other direction to get the model back to its default shape. For example, Morph 100 results in the model going completely to the target geometry. But then you have to do Morph -100 several times to get back to the base geometry.
