morph target and displacement problems

Hey zbrush experts,

I’ve run into another problem … again.

I import my geometry into zbrush. I set the morph target and then divide the geometry and start painting away. I then save as (in the tools palette) But when I close and reload the program, I lose my origanl geometry. I can only see the painted geometry, on both the morph targets. ( when I switch back and forth inthe morph target the one geometry looks a little more difined then the other). So then when I got to create the displacement map it makes a map with all the geomerty in it. I’ve tryed everything I know of and even got my teacher at school to have a look. But we both could not figure it out. I’ve done a look of work on this model and would hate to have to start over again.

here is the image of the map it creates, there should only be a displacement for the head and not the rest of the body.

Any help would be great.

Thanks a lot for your time and advice.displacement.jpg

Well the problem was that when I divide the geometry and go back to the origanal (1 divison) the mesh is altered (smoothed just slightly) and thats what is showing up in the displacement map. I am now aware that I have to hit the cage button after dividing the geometry in order to keep the origanl unchanged.

Thats what a newbie at zbrush gets.

So now I have to start to sculpt my displacement all over again.
