Morph Target and Displacement Map

Hello, I’m a student and I’ve been using Zbrush 4r3 at school to great success in my projects. I have recently found a problem trying to export displacement maps from zbrush after saving a morph target. My workflow is like this:

model in Maya
UV layout in UVlayout
import base mesh into zbrush, save morph target
sculpt
return to subd level 1, switch morph target
generate displacement and normal maps

When I click the generate displacement and normal maps button, nothing is created. Only when I switch back to the morph target that I sculpted with will the maps be generated.

I have tried all sort of ways to make it work but none of them seem to help. The UVs don’t overlap and are facing the right direction. Is there an alternative to this approach? I really need the original base mesh.
