voxels would easily allow such operations as booleans and cutting the mesh as if it was made of clay. the only cheap app doing this now is 3D coat,which is voxel based sculpting. it allows to make things like these and also some more hard surface modelling but it isn’t at the same level of Zbrush when sculpting, for now. Tho, it is more interesting in features than Mudbox. I think one could use both Zbrush and 3d coat together quite easily.

I really love the new noise function…I used to do this function in photoshop to get the look of skin but this just got easier to do. I also wonder if this will be able to be bake into my normal maps. And can we also do this with HD Geometry? And how will the baking of normal maps be handled?

I am just so psyched about the new ZB that i am planning on redoing my models just to take advantage of HD Modelling :slight_smile:

Those presented, are magic features yet, can’t imagine what they can add more to this wonderful app… maybe layers for painting and possibility to have/work with more maps at the same time per object, some enhanced retopology tools, but who knows…:wink:

:DI was hoping to use GoZ on my final portfolio pieces which have hard surface components. But those hardsurface brushes and Zspheres may do the trick. I may even be able to save Maya just for rendering and retopology.

Now the only thing they really should make better is their ability to estimate time:

What happened to “…The Windows version of 3.5 will be released by the end of August…”??

Fantastic new features guys. Zbrush 3.5 is probably the best thing that will happen for me this year, is that sad :smiley:

Am i correct in thinking that Go Z is included in the Zbrush 4 update?..not this interim update?.

Still cant wait though…zbrush does wipe the floor with the competition. We should all be grateful for such a whopping free upgrade. look at mudbox 2009…they simply gold plated a turd with that one…and expected owners to pay as well.
