*** More about ZBrush 3.5

You make some very good points man.
I agree, things seem very strange to me as well.

And I definitely don’t see ZB 4.0 until at least 3rd quarter 2010.

anyone had recived a email?
im really puzzled .refused.

For me, what counts is, what I will get in the end of the day. A sculpting software which has no competition in the field at this moment. Mudbox doesn´t do very well with their newest release and 3d coat isn´t nearly at the level of zbrush.
If some people care about pixologics marketing strategies, I don´t, so just leave it as it is.

Well if it doesn’t get released by end of day Today you are not likely to see it till Tuesday or Wednesday. Monday is a holiday in the US. Everyone is off to go drink beer and eat BBQ. I would be willing to be about 98% of us in here need to take some time away from the computer anyway. Go get some sun Eat a Hot Dog, Drink a beer, Go for a swim!

Sea ya next week!

The official first week of a month, is when there are no days included from the previous month. So next week is the first week of September. They posted on the support website that there is a delay and that there won’t be a release until the first week of September, which is next week.

So you should have a copy of Zbrush 3.5 at some point next week.

what a bunch of cry babies. boo hoo zbrush 3.5 isn’t here waaaah waaaah, oh my god it must be a conspiracy.
quit your whingeing you bitter buch of c***s. come on guys and gals cheer up, its not worth crying about. i admit it is anoying when you alow yourself to get overecited about somthing and then feel let down but after reading some of the comments on here i gotta say that some people need to get thier emotions in check. so what if they keep delaying it. oh sorry i forgot you WANT IT NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW. grow up children.

Some people really have a knack for self-hypnosis.
So by that calculation the first week of this month ends on the 14th.
If we add to that the time it can take to send out the golden e-mails we could be heading towards october.

This sounds more like an invitation to visit willy wonka’s factory than a software release.

Can I wait for a stable zbrush 3.49 release? Sure, if people give me a clear idea of when that wait will end.

I’m impressed by your argumentation, and your wise use of pictu… wait no…

RRRRRRRRRRRRRRUUUUUUUHIIIIIG BRAUNÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ :o… hier auch… man

hahahaha

I’m sure everything you are saying is true but I have to ask, so what? I can’t understand what is so disbelieving about Pixo hamstringing their competition with strategic announcements. It’s a no brainer move in business but you seem to take personal offense to it.

I’m not paying money for these upgrades so I have no place to complain. I know some are actually asking to pay to get upgrades on time but I’m not in a position to put out that kind of money so I’m very happy that Pixo is willing to give us this cutting edge software for a one time fee.

Actually let me word it better, I’m very grateful that such a company still exists. You may cheapen my sentiments with childish words like “fanboy” but I’ve got much more important financial obligations and the fact that I can have what will probably be one of the most cutting edge pieces of software in history for free means a lot to me. For one thing it means I get to be there when it launches and not have to sit on the sidelines while everyone else is showing how awesome it is. Meanwhile I save up for the upgrade and waste valuable learning time. I mean seriously, have any of you dealt with companies like oh I don’t know: Microsoft, Symantec, McAfee, Adobe, AutoDesk, Oracle, Computer Associates etc? I mean personally dealt with them not heard some story from your IT guy, well I am that IT guy and let me tell you, Pixo is a dream compared to these guys.

Like I’ve said in the past, I have a feeling that Pixo is a very very small company with limited staff. I get that impression from experiences I’ve had in the past dealing with other small developers. So they probably don’t have a lot of time to spend on anything other than getting the product out. Cut them some freakin’ slack people.

Pixo’s attitude reminds me of NewTek’s back in the day when broadcast equipment cost hundreds of thousands of dollars and here comes NewTek and their Toaster for a few grand that did a better job. NewTek wanted to bring broadcasting to the masses and Pixo wants to make the most intuitive tools for artists and not charge an arm and a leg for it. That I can really appreciate.

I realize everyone is getting antsy in the pantsy, I just can’t understand the anger.

What kind of logic is that!!!
The first week of September is the 1st through the 7th!
It doesn’t change!
What school did you go to?!
The fanboys are more dillusional that Ive ever expected!
Stop making excuses for them!

Wyatt, very well said :+1: :+1:

I’m as anxious as the next guy to get my hands on these tools (refreshing like a fiend lol), but I cannot understand why so much anger is being directed at Pixologic. You cannot rush genius, and they really put themselves on the line by giving public deadlines, but I’m sure they really wanted to keep them. If you are holding off doing any work just to wait for the update don’t be silly, just rattle off one final wee project in 3.1 and enjoy yourself. No one can be as stressed as the Pixo team right now, so cut them some slack!

how do you feel for the mac users that have to wait longer than you

so stop moaning about pixologic delaying the release they are simply trying to give us the best possible out of 3.5.

what would you rather a dodgy version that you have to update in a weeks time or just wait a week and have the complete thing?

mine is the second

so please stop complaining XD

The ‘anger’ as you put it is more to do with needlessly hyping something and not delivering it in the time scale promised, even going so far as to reword blog posts to comfortably extend the delay.

It’s not anger so much as annoyance. If the goods aren’t there, don’t get people’s hopes up then dash them at the last possible minute, it aggravates almost everyone and causes resentment for no reason. By the time the update does show, rather than be heralded with cries of “WOW I LOVE YOU PIXOLOGIC!”, it’ll be greeted with a thousand voices shouting “ABOUT F*%&ING TIME.”

Which would you rather have?

Omg… all the complaining and conspiracy off of a delay for one week ><. Watch the tune change when it comes out. You would have to be a real jerk on some kind of level to still be ticked off. “Hey Pixo WTF for making me wait an extra week for this awesome update. WTF Autodesk treats their costumers with more respect. This so wrong for not even making us pay anything. YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN ON TIME!!!”

Yea I would Like my upgrade now…But I can’t complain for the delay, ZBrush has been very, very good to me:)

I’m really getting annoyed with this "for free " argument.
Blender is a free “kick-ass” 3d company and their releases are generally
announced in an organised, hype-free manner.

I respect how pixologic develop their app and what strategy they adopt
in regards to possible competitors, but this way of announcing an upcoming
release doesn’t serve anybody.

Even if they are a small company, how many staff does it take to send
out a message giving people that are waiting a clear picture of what’s happening.
Does it hurt to send out an extra message?
Will coding grind to a halt because of it?

And if they don’t know how long it will take, that’s ok too, as long as some-
body takes a couple minutes to tell me.

I remember reallusion not meeting their latest i-clone release.
The release got delayed by only a few days but at least there was someone
taking the time to tell people on the forum what was happening.

Yeah really. It’s not like I didn’t already spend $600.

I’m tired of Mac users moaning about it…they can just use boot camp. It’s not like windows users can use Mac OSs.
