Would you release your hard earned project BEFORE a long weekend knowing that you may have to work the entire weekend supporting the release and making sure its release goes well? If its not released yet, it won’t be until after the weekend. If all goes well we may see it after the 8th. Enjoy your weekend…especially the dedicated folks at Pixo who are blessing us with such a great program.
I can wait either way, but wasnt the 9th mentioned based on a release schedualed for end of August?
That mention of the 9th was based of the August release, original news item. The latest news which was the 1/09, states the first week in September which ends end of this week. Putting them both together looks like the 9th is the latest that individual mite get theirs, i.e the process had started when it was due to go out.
If in reality that 9th was intended for individuals who didnt get their email, from the realease of 31st August, then arnt we not looking at the 16th for some individuals?
Just some thoughts.
No no no, you’re eating what they gave you, when the release date was targeted for the end of august, the date was the third september.
With the 09/01 announcement update they changed that date to 09/09.
“If you do not receive your upgrade instructions by Thursday, September 3 please submit a support ticket to let us know. We will be able to look into the matter and get your upgrade instructions sent to you. Please do not submit a ticket before then, as we will not be able to assist until after all upgrade emails have been sent by Cleverbridge. Any support tickets requesting upgrade instructions that are sent prior to September 3 will be closed without a response.”
I don’t care not having zbrush soon, althought i’m as eager as everyone to get my hands on it, but I hate when people disrespect me. Right now i fee like pixologic don’t have the slightest respect for their customers, if they do they could at very least not change the dates in “old” release announcement, to make people think they are not late when they don’t release on time.
Heyyyy…lol…do you lot know nothing?..
Im still hanging on for the zbrush update that was due in the last quarter of 2008…so be patient.
I´m pretty sure it will be released at monday, which also doesn´t mean that everyone will get their update at this day, because they said they will send out mails in chunks. So everybody should get the email until wednesday. The 9th is just if something went wrong and someone didn´t receive the mail for a reason, then you should contact them.
A week has seven days, so monday the 7th is the last day of the first week.
And it has been said that it can take up to 2 days to send out all mails.
If the release would happen today and you are one of the guys who didn´t receive your mail within 2 days, you would have no chance to contact them until the 9th, because in the support center is written, that every mail before 9th won´t affect anything.
Soo, I´m afraid, no 3.5 today
I see, didnt know they had chaged it, still makes no difference to me. Iv been using Zbrush long enougth to know that it does a prety dam fine job at sculpting, but only since I spent the time to learn how to sculpt.
Zbrush is the tool, im the artest, no update will ever change that. It will be here when its ready. Its not worth getting angry over a few days when we all could be making good use of what we have, and learning what skills we dont.

Like i said, i’m not ranting about the late release, i’m ranting about the attitude of pixo.
I don’t know about you, but when a client ask me to do something, its about trust, if can’t deliver on time he will go to someone else and I will not get payed. Ok 3.5 is free and 'im grateful for that, but if you have a little bit of selfrespect you don’t announce deadline you definitely know you can’t meet.
Then just switch to Autodesk products, get releases in time and be “not” happy with the result
Saad, really sad, you can’t even criticize what should be common sense, on this board, without someone coming to tell you its worse elsewhere so you should be happy to be treated like a retard.
Should i make an history ?:
2008: announcement of 3.5 release
august 2009: announcement of 4.0
august 2009: 4.0 postponed re-announcement of 3.5
august 2009: goz psotponed wil lbe included in 4.0 in september
august 2009: 3.5 postponed to early september.
You can’t seriously say they’re are not completely out of their mind about release date ?
If was paranoid enough i would say the whole 3.5/4.0 announcement was a way to draw attention of potential customers of another new rising application and keep them from buying it. …
Thanks for this but you seem to be good person to give us advice ! :D;)
Ok it is delayed… Sorry not to be able to read more than 10 pages and see the little information about the release which will be “in late”.
What is wrong with Pixologic having an HR guy make a few posts here updating us as to what’s happening and if it will be delayed (again). Instead of us wondering and waiting until the last day only to realize it ourselves when ZB3.5 doesn’t show up.I mean WTF do they get off on these posts, some sick power trip or something? It’s very strange if you ask me…reading tons of customer concerns for days and even weeks without a single response or acknowledgement sometimes. Do they have an HR department or customer service department? I mean come on…companies don’t normally do this crap!
They have replied in their post that it will be delayed.
Get over it. They should not have to reply to every frenzied persons post.
even though I had my fingers crossed, I am not shocked by the delay, I would rather they release their work of art when its finished. pixologic isn’t like other software companies with on time regularly scheduled releases of crap, cut them some slack.
how ordinary - pix misses multiple deadlines.
Well you know, in the software development buisness, a lot of times “unexpected” problems occours right before the finish line. Then you have the choice to release it as it is or you take some time to fix the biggest issues and release a better product. Some companies leave it as it is because of contracts they have to fullfill and this is always bad for the people who have to use the product.
No matter what the deadline is, you can never be sure that you get a polished version of the software at the day of your deadline.
Sure they could not tell a release date at all and just release it when it´s done, but then you will hear people crying, that they didn´t knew about the new version, so they didn´t purchase and don´t get their version at the day of the release…
You’re kidding right ? You announce a software release about a year before its “actual” release and finally don’t release and expect people to be all smile ?
I know about last minute bugs, what i don’t understand is this stupefying unexplainable habit that pixo ahs to announce a software upgrade when some rival software emerge, remember 3.0 ? > mudbox.
