Nope, not gonna be released today. Pixologic = Blizzard.
Another out patient
The people complaining about the update with all the new cutting edge, industry leading tools being a few days late should definitely see about getting a refund for the update they paid hundreds of dollars for.
Oh wait, it’s free.
If Pixo never releases another free update ever, you’ve more than gotten your money’s worth, and they don’t owe you anything.
Theyre a small group of dedicated individuals, who in the rampant climate Autodesk and general corporate bastardry do nothing but innovate, and give their tools away for free, for love of the artform. So why dont you give them a break, and give it a rest.
Just take a deep breath.
3.5… i can hear you!, but where are you!..
Yeah looks like you need the deep breath.
Seriously true!
…on the next page
I think we all feel the same thing: We can´t wait for the new tools because they are sooooooo good. That explains some reactions; we want our new toy and we just can´t wait.
. I just don´t understand very well why Pixo is pressed to give us release dates that almost nobody believe. Take your time!!
I dont know if this happens to others but my expectations are so high that i can´t start anything , im blocked, just waiting…
More wood to the fire, I guess… But it’s so damn frustrating I can’t keep quiet
No, it’s not coming out now, but yeah, they shouldn’t announce it unless they can deliver. No one is questioning their geniality or generosity. I know I’m not. Neither am I saying I’d rather have it incomplete just to get it now.
But come on! Enough already! First they say “ZB 4.0 on august”. Then it’s “ZB 3.5 on august, 4.0 whenever it’s ready”. Ok, no harm done, new stuff anyway. Then they release a bunch of tasty videos just to fire up the hype… and again postpone it.
And forget about it being a free upgrade. I’m quite sure a lot of people here (maybe even most people) would rather pay and get it sooner, than having to wait to get it free. The thing is, anyone who has worked on a schedule and with clients (again, I bet most of us know what that is) knows that’s bad business.
Don’t make promises you can’t keep. That keeps your users happier. That said, take the time you need and make it perfect… whenever it’s ready you can announce it again and have us both astonished and happy, how about that?
I’d just like to add that I like the rolling updates model they seem to be working with over at Pixologic. It would be great if we didn’t have to hold our breath for The Next Great Version all the time and could just take the improvements and new tools as they were developed and integrated into the software. I’d be willing to pay a subscription for updates too. How do those guys afford to eat anyways?
My concern about the upcoming releases is for the hardware requirements. I’m working on an iMac Core 2 Duo with 3gb of RAM and 128mb ati graphics card. Will this support the newer features?
That doesnt always work. Striving for ultimate perfection usually leads to nowhere. Ex: Duke Nukem Forever
i prefer to pay for it clearly more than waiting geistesabwesend.
Doesn’t mean I deserved to be LIED TO.
You like being lied to?
If pixo just gave a general release date like Q4 2009 or even sometime in 2010 I’d be all fine with that really.
I know how it is in software dev, been there done that. I just don’t like as a long time customer/supporter to be baited with release dates that can’t be met. I am not a TOOL!
i’m pretty sure it says ‘this coming week’ (yep it does, just checked)
and last time i check it is still this week (yep thats right too)
also pretty sure theres still 4 days (including today) left in the working week (yep thats right too)
and i’m pretty sure it’s free (yep…that one too)
so to those whinging cos it hasn’t come out when you want it to…get over yourselves and just be glad you’re getting it for free…
Sure…tool
How’d ya explain 4 to 3.5 to GoZ in September after months of hype for August.
lol nice work with the insult…top notch stuff there…
All the people complaining have very few posts. I wonder if they just signed in to complain.
I’ve read that Zbrush 3.5 will be coming this week… As well as the end of August. Which today… Monday is the only day that falls in to both of those categories. From watching all of the Featured clips, it looks like they have a functional working version of it. Thus, I’ve noticed that the updates seem to happen around midnight for me. Is there any information that I’ve missed somewhere that say’s otherwise?
I’ve also read this:
ZBrush 3.5 for the PC is scheduled to be released before the end of August, 2009. (The Mac version is to be released sometime in September.) It is our great pleasure to be able to provide this new version as a free upgrade for all existing customers. Please keep in mind that because this is a free ugprade for everyone, there will be tremendous demand for it. Your patience will be greatly appreciated as we get the upgrade distributed to everyone. Additionally, there are a couple things that you can do to help ensure that the process goes smoothly.
As soon as the new version has been released, Cleverbridge will begin sending emails to all users of ZBrush 3 for the PC. These emails will go out in batches, based upon Cleverbridge’s server capacity. This means that it may take one or two days for all upgrade emails to be sent.
If your email address has not changed since purchasing or upgrading to ZBrush 3, there is nothing that you need to do. Your instructions will be sent automatically to the address on record. Please simply ensure that your spam filter is set to allow emails from cleverbridge.com.
If your email address has changed since purchasing, please submit a support ticket to let us know. We will update your records for you. Alternatively, you can contact Cleverbridge directly to update your email address. They can be reached at [email protected] or by phone at 312-922-8693 (United States) and +49 221 222 45 0 (Germany).
If you do not receive your upgrade instructions by Thursday, September 3 please submit a support ticket to let us know. We will be able to look into the matter and get your upgrade instructions sent to you. Please do not submit a ticket before then, as we will not be able to assist until after all upgrade emails have been sent by Cleverbridge. Any support tickets requesting upgrade instructions that are sent prior to September 3 will be closed without a response.
Thank you for your ongoing support of Pixologic and enthusiasm for ZBrush! We are looking forward to seeing what you can do with the new features.
Happy ZBrushing!
For those that may have not read it…
I’m just wondering are people trying to get upset… without the “race” not even ended.
It’s 10:27 P.M and still 8/31/09 over there in Pixologic country. My best wishes to everyone over there in CA with the massive wild fires going on… hope the crew at pixologic and their family and friends are safe.
