Holy cow! (no pun intended, juandel, cuz you posted the cows) I can’t believe what I have been missing. This thread is amazing. Excellent work, Lonnie, on your underwater pix…ditto to northstarr. I wish I could comment on all of them, but 6 pages, many images, I can’t get them all. Like the fuzzy bear by TVEyes, too.
Juandel,
Excellant approach on the clouds…could you go into a little more detail on the first pic? I’m really impressed…thnx

We are on to the next challenge in the series. Have you been thinking about your overall concept for Mother Nature?
This week’s challenge is FLAMES OF FURY. Feel free to interpret the title as you wish keeping in mind the overall theme of the challenge…MOTHER NATURE.

Have fun!<HR></BLOCKQUOTE>
thanks, my friends
Doohicky, here is a quickly recorded script showing the basic technique . i think the secret lies in the fact that once you have added a few zspheres it is very simple to create irregular shapes by adding additional zspheres via switching into rotationmode by hitting “R” and holding alt while clicking on link spheres. i used this method to quickly build up corals in the fish challenge and the rocks in the rocks challenge, too
hope this helps!

Well I have been out of the loop for a few weeks. My new computer had a flawed mother board, so I have been in ZBrush withdrawal! Not to mention feeling really out of touch, not being able to even read the forum most of the time. But I am back!
I did this one really quick because I actually missed the “cold as stone” week and I didn’t want to miss this one too!
Awesome! Thankyou Juandel!
the flames of fury were too difficult for me. i give now the enchanted nights a try. hope it is not too dark…

This might be a little late for the flames of fury but here is my take on it. All ZB except for the textures for the Earth and Moon, which are courtesy of NASA. Enjoy!
this is a nice interpretation of the theme. i like the idea, and how you got the look of the flames of the comet. how did you do that ?
Sorry about that, I forgot the how to portion! I have found an very easy approach to creating fire in Zbrush. Simply put, I used the “highlighter II brush”. Make sure in the options you turn on “main” I believe. Just remember that the layer needs to be either the flat material, or baked before you try this effect. I will upload two brief scripts I just made in zip format for all who would like to see. I am planning to make a volcano scene in the near future, and if time permits, I might be able to add a tutorial with it. I hope this brief info helps everyone create better fire
Decent flamage there bro.
I haven’t given self illuminating objects a go yet in ZB, but it’s on the list somewhere
thanks, sirquadalot i am looking forward to try this.
Oh dear, here it is April already and I missed a whole bunch of topics! And I haven’t seen any new challenges up. Does anyone know what is going on with the Monday Night Challenges?
Thanks
Mak
I havent seen many ppl on IRC either , I just drop in now and then to find no one.
Drop in on Monday’s for sure around 7pm ish central daylight time and normally there will be members there. I think that between spring time and the world affairs, people have been doing other things. Just a temorary lull of sorts I guess. Anytime anyone wants to get on and chat in irc, just drop me a mail at [email protected] and normally in the evenings I am at the computer and will be happy to join anyone in chat there. And I can also contact some of the other members immediately to join in (I have several on other chat programs and emails and they are normally on their computers). Hope to see everyone that can make it into the chats on Monday nights.
I’m in the channel now , you’re probably right Ron , there havent been that many posts on the board lately either.
Thanks Ron! I will try and make it except that when I changed computers I lost the link and instructions to get into the chat room along with it. Sorry to be a pain but could you please post it again. Maybe some of the new people would like to join in as well so if you repost the info. they would also get the info.
Thanks
Download an IRC client like Mirc www.mirc.com
On the command line at the bottom type
/server irc.sorcery.net
Wait for all the messages to end
Then type
/join #zbrush3
If you’re on a linux machine with KDE. tap ALT+F2 , type “xchat”
sorry I missed ya in there …I will try the chat again in about 3 hours. Hope to see ya there… you too Donna
are there any free IRC chat clients? I noticed that mIRC is a 30 day trial.
