Heiner_hink - photoshop and painter. I’m getting some ideas ready for some Zbrushing. my 2d is lacking, so its time to sharpen up . I plan to build a few of these. I have not fully taken advantage of 2.5d.
lol
this last thing holding its children in its mouth is so cool!
i love your monsters. they are all so surreal. nice work.
but i want to see them in 3d!!! they could be really great!
wethand - thanks!
Hi Skullbeast! That last one is great, will look awesome when sculpted imo. You’re 2D exercising is really paying of: these last pics feel as tough you’ve actually “sculpted” with pencil, paint, light and shadow. !
Great sketches! Can´t wait to see the ZBrush versions.
Etcher - thanks!
Moni-Poroni - yes that one needs to be made.
messing around on sunday. “Tombscape”
I love it! Great sketches
John, this last guy’s got potential!
Nattawat_OBBI - thanks!
markkens - I dig it as well, thanks!

Sweet Djeezes man… you didn’t show this to anyone else, did you? This is getting worse with every update… . More, please
!
Yajad Traveller,
Well done mate! Yet another beautiful piece. I really love your 2d work, it has a wonderfully loose quality that works with your ehem subject matter. It lends your sketches a dreamy quality which I adore…
…By the way, when you do make your book you have to add plenty of your 2d work along with your amazing 3d stuff. Do it, or I will destroy you in a violent blood bath! I’m sorry did I type that out loud¿!
Tore’alos,

Hehe what he said, go John your on a role.
johnfnoo - thanks and cool!
Etcher -
reverendwyrm - thanks and you know it!!
Point - thanks man!
Glad he was dead before certain parts were detached.
Somebody somewhere , I think it was Shamus Culhane said, (paraphraseing)when your in that zone dont let anything come between you and the page while you are putting your idea onto the paper, don’t spend time rubbing out and changing stuff, just throw it on the ground and keep going onto another one.
I think maybe its a bit like that when you want to put stuff into 3D and start fleshing out models that you’ve concepted into ZBrush, when you are in that zone where ideas are just flowing, and you are trying to get them onto the page before you forget them all, you have to just keep doing that until you have exhuasted them all, and see what you end up with. Then you can start ZBrushing later.
Cow138 rings a bell is that a ref to a movie.
Wow more great monsters! You rock! Do you plan to sculpt any of these?
Thanks guys!
cptnS eventually. I find it faster ( less I’m “not sure” time) to build from a design instead of just going for it.
Andrew Jones Technique. Zbrush texture sketching! 2.5D. 10 minute thumbnail.
Skullbeast, these thumbnails are awesome! What do we need Painter for… . Please do more of these 2.5D experiments… . You got me inspired to do some as well.
!
My gut vote’s for #3, although #7 does resemble the southern end of a north-bound sifou’ngl
