Moni-Poroni

Yeah, good start on the anatomy. The concept is great. I know Adrian Smith work from the rulebooks of Chronopia, a fantasy table top game we used to play (quite long ago…). He is one of my favorite creature designers and his work is still an inspiration.

Cheers

Good luck on this, I like the Adrien Smith concept. Looking forward to seeing more stuff from you!

This last model is looking good
Its kinda early to crit, but I’d take a look at the back, but I know its very early.
Keep it up mate, looking forward to the next update.

Fernando Kuhlmann: Thanks a lot, Fernando! Its cool that youve also entered the 3D Production Challenge. Best of luck! I need to check out your updates later.
Energise:
Hey Jonas, thanks a lot! Hehe… yep… the armor :D… I have to say its pretty easy to create and sculpt the armor in Zbrush.. but there are so many parts.. whew... Regarding your job -- WOW, that sounds fantastic (it also sounds like a LOT of work ;)) but in the first part its fantastic. Congrats! I cant wait to see it. :) Ecthelion: Thank you very much! Yes, I agree -- hes a great artist.
Mihail Kounelakis: Thanks a lot!
-Storm-:Thanks a lot for the compliment and the critique. I agree with you… the back is looking strange at the moment. I havent worked much on it yet, but I hope itll look better in the end.

New Update
[color=LemonChiffon]
I started with the armor.
Although Ive never done something similar to date it was pretty easy to create it in Zbrush. Ive used the functions of the Deformation Palette and I`ll use the Hard Surface brushes for the modeling later. I want it to look handmade and not too clean… just wanted to say that before some of you wonder why a lot of parts will be asymetric.
I also added the ztiches on his breast/stomache and started modeling a skull.
This is my skull basemesh. I need four skulls in the end and each of them will look slightly different.

[update 01.jpg]i2.jpg

C+C as always welcome.
Thanks for watching!

His arms should be longer. His elbows should be at the top of his hips and his forearm should be at least a head length.

Also his head should be a bit larger as well.

Keep up the good work Moni!

Thanks a lot, Danconia! I need to check that. Have you seen the original concept above? His arms seem to be a little shorter there, too… (?)
I dont think hes a normal guy.

The Skull is so nice  , keep going Moni

Hey there Moni-Poroni…I think you are spot on with the provided ref…and really good work on Hard surface stuff… Really coming along well.

Hey Moni! Update looks very good! Needless to say, the work on the skull is great!

As for the arms thing, here’s my 2 cents: I attached a size comp pic. it’s hard to get a good comparison due to differences in perspective distortion between the original and your Z-screenshot but: you might notice that the hips (belt) are somewhat higher on the concept (as well as the knees) this is why the concept’s short and blocky arms do get halfway on the thigh (when the concept would spread his fingers, the fingertips are not that far away from the knee). Easy enough to test this out on a lopoly version  . I would make sure that the arms have the same length though.

(Darn it, Etchelion is right about working on a external harddrive/usb stick … )

Looking forward to the next update  :+1: .

SolidSnakexxx: Yong, thank you very much!
Etcher: [color=LemonChiffon]Thank you so much for the image. :+1:small_orange_diamond:) I haven`t done something like this, so this will be very helpful.
The whole proportion thing is difficult for me -as you know  … and the perspective of the concept makes it even harder.
Thanks again for taking time to make this pic. I appreciate it.

ZBC I missed you a lot!

Fiiiiiiiinally I have some time to upload a few pics of a cartoon creature I modeled a few weeks ago.
I had so many things to do and almost no time to check out ZBC. :frowning:
I have three other models which are almost done. Just a few final details are missing… but arrrrrrrgh… no time at the moment.
Im working hard on 6feet tall creature sculpture but more about that in a few weeks. Now back to the cartoon creatue..:) It was for the company Materialise and I won a 3d print which they turned into a pair of bookends. I have so many books and since Ive started learning Zbrush Ive also started collecting art and anatomy books..and they often fall over. Im so happy to have bookends now (I always forgot to buy some :D) and on top of that with my own model.
Here are a few pics. I hope you like it.

[color=DeepSkyBlue]The Lettereater
This is a little Lettereater.
Lettereaters love to eat… yes, right – letters.
You better watch out if one of them is near your books!

Polypainted version:

And a turntable video. No HD unfortunately. I totally forgot that ZBC supports YoutubeHD now. :o I first need to download some programs.
