I love pictures with noise… I don
t have Photoshop but I just discovered that it
s possible to do that with a free program, too. I couldn`t resist to try it, so here it is.

C+C as always welcome…
Thanks for watching!
I see you’re very proud of it, and you have every right. Outstanding piece ;)
great thread and a nice model somehow i just have to keep thinking of helga feddersen ^^ (a name probably only the germans know)
Hey Moni!
Wow
Really fantastic piece my friend
Her expression is just wonderfully done
I love the hair and also the neck piece,
Congratulations
Fernando
m just glad that it
s done and I personally prefer big pictures and it also makes it easier for other members to find mistakes (which is important to me because I want to improve). m from Germany, yet I don
t know her. :o But I searched for a photo on google and indeed, you are right. Ahhhhh, I was so tired as I posted… I totally forgot to say something small_orange_diamond:
Many thanks to my sister for all the help and critique on this one! And thanks for the great reference picture of an old smiling woman. (If somebody wants to see it, let me know. I can scan and upload it then.)
Mo I love it! It came out so great! Would love to see you do the rest of her now:D
Just AWESOME! i love her expression, those wrinkles!, and specially her necklace! another great image Moni , thank so much for sharing with us, Have a great weekend also
This is very good and an interesting model. I especially am curious on how you did the braids. Coud you explain how they were done?
Overall this is fantastic. I would love to see it textured. She seems happy in her old age - good emotion
Very good! I like her necklace, too.
Some day you should do a Paint Stop illustration with this
Beautiful result Moni: I think you’ve managed to achieve what you where after: she’s old and beautiful; a lot of that comes from the character and personality she radiates through her eyes and expression.
. I like the pic with the noise because of the higher contrast. The blue pearls are a nice touch. (if you do revisit the sculpt, you might want to add a bit more aged skin on her chest and traps; when I take a step back, the ageing seems to stop at the neclace and braids). Good to post big pics; it’s an intimate/personal portrait so details matter.
(regarding my updates: slow. studying/trying out stuff. ok, slow but steady.)
Lookin great moni!
This is exactly what I meant with “all rendered up” haha
The only crit I can give you would be regarding the eyes
It looks like you first painted the first eye and then cloned/mirrored it to the other side, am I right?
I tried the same thing with my old guy, but this results in the fact that the highlights you have painted also becomes mirrored. this gives kind of a crosseyed look I found no other solution then first painting the eyes, then mirroring and finally painting in the highlights. but there MUST an easier way hehe
I´m a newbie!
She is indeed beautiful!
Nice works! Congrats!
GregStrangis: Thank you very much, Greg! It was fun and a good exercise and I
ll fix a few things later, but no chance that I
ll do the rest of her.
manzarek123: Thank you very much for all the kind words! I
m happy to hear you like the wrinkles, because it was a lot of work to model them. Stephen Babb: Thanks a lot! You said that she seems to be happy and that was my goal. :) On page 29 in this thread I explained how I
ve made the braids. I hope you find it useful. (CLICK HERE)
jamespthornton: Thank you very much, James! Hehehe, no chance. But I have a lot of other ideas for PaintStop. There
s one PaintStop idea in my head for a long time now, but I have to practice more. I already tried to paint it a few months ago but I was SOOO unsatisfied. Therefore I deleted it. The problem is that a lot of creatures and objects are supposed to be in the scene.. and I need an interesting perspective for it. Hopefully I
ll be able to paint it someday.
Etcher: Thank you very much! I totally agree with you… for some reason I totally forgot to add more aged skin there.
angry with myself
Maybe some more wrinkles on the forehead would be good, too? What do you think? I need to fix that…
Oh, btw, I have the Gottfried Bammes book now (Die Gestalt des Menschen). Its fantastic!!! And it
s all your fault. :D
AND… I got the Zbrush Digital Sculpting Human Anatomy book, which is also fantastic! Im on page 132 now and there were already hundreds of aaaah-:bulb:-moments. :) It
s so much fun to read it and so informative. Im going to start with a male figure within the next few days and. I just have to! :) And this book will be very useful for my alien, and for everything else I
m going to model in the future.
Energise: Hey Jonas!! Thank you very much! And thanks for the critique! Hehe, yeah… you got me there!
I mirrored them! I changed a few little things afterwards but maybe not enough. I have no idea how others do something like that.
Somebody should make a tutorial!
Eyes are so important. It`s the first thing most people look at.
Regarding the cross-eyed look. Hmm… yeah, I know what you mean…but I spent hours on the eye[color=LemonChiffon]s (postition, size and stuff like that) and believe me, it looked worse than now.
Gilberto Magno: Thank you very much!
I did not mean that she actually LOOKED cross-eyed
the eyes positions are perfect!
I was just referring to the highlights which are cross-eyed if you know what I mean
Energise: Now I understand. Thanks for clearing that up, Jonas.
Btw, did you see what happened to cgCoach?
Uh ! Not cool !
Runen: Thanks… but I already read that. I didn`t mean “do you know what happend to cgcoach?”… I meant “did you see what happened” because I was sad to read it.
gpepper: Yeah, definitely NOT cool! I hate when things like that happen.
Quote"Yeah, definitely NOT cool! I hate when things like that happen" Likewise, , I wonder who proves what to whom by doing stuff like that.
Quote: “Maybe some more wrinkles on the forehead would be good, too? What do you think?” Create a new 3D Layer and add the wrinkles; this way you can exaggerate the aged skin / wrinkles, and dial back the intensity with the slider until you get a satisfactory balance. André Holzmeister’s post might come in handy!

AND… I got the Zbrush Digital Sculpting Human Anatomy book, which is also fantastic!” I knew you would! Those are two cornerstone books - never leave home without them!
