Hi Moni, happy new year!!
I’ve been busy doing other things in last few months but have just caught up with what you’ve been doing and it’s great! Splendid work, the Humpatiki is fab, the ninja turtles are pretty solid and this alien is coming up good too.
All the best.

Hey Mo! Happy New Year! Really like this last model you got going =) Love how skinny and scrawny his body is in comparison to his big noggin lol. Please enjoy whats left of this year and look forward to the next!

Moni! happy new year… !

May zBrush bless you with a lot hours of z-culpting, and may the Lord bless you with food on your table and a house over your head, love in your heart and dreams in your thoughts, through all this new year (right now on germany… in mexico we are still in 2009 )

SolidSnakexxx:Thank you very much! Im glad to hear that you think he has already a character. AVTPro: Thank you very much for the compliment! :) Al.Tintop: Thank you very much! Well.. bad idea to post your models on youtube if you want to keep them secret! Hehe. :p Please let me know what you think about the feet and the hands when Ive posted the next update.
adampof: Thank you very much! Regarding your “what is your favourite-inspiring book” thread – I bought the Gottrfried Bammes book last month (I told you which one  ) but I had not much time to read it so far. I started with Zbrush last year erm, since its 2010 now thats no longer true :). I started in september/october 2008 and had nothing to do with art before. To be honest – my biggest inspiration is not a book, its ZbrushCentral. :) maxinkuk: Hey Max, looooong time no talk! Thank you very much for all the kind words! I hope youll have more time for Zbrush now.
Happy New Year!
GregStrangis: Thank you very much, Greg! A big head and a skinny body is better than the other way around, huh? All the best for 2010!!! I hope to see more monsters and creatures from you!
ISK-86: Hey, long time no talk! Happy New Year! Thank you very much for all the good wishes! Ditto!

No alien update today but I want to show you something I`ve started last month. It was for the cghub 3d jam challenge. Unfortunatley I had no time to finish it in time because of Christmas. BUT I`ll finish it over the next days. Theme was BEAUTY. For me, old people are very beautiful. Nature and nativeness is beautiful. And a friendly smile is beautiful, so I decided to model a happy old native woman. Some of you might remember that I have big problems with modeling humans.

Its also the first time ever that Im modeling an older person. Its really hard for me, so please feel free to tell me if you think theres something wrong.
Thanks for watching!
Comments and critiqe as always welcome.

She looks great moni

like the braids a lot!

Did you sculpt from reference or just go with the flow? :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks a lot, Jonas! They were made with Zspheres… quick and easy.
Unfortunatley I don`t have any good reference pics. I only have some pics of old native men and pics of young native women. There are pics of young half-naked women in native women clothes… but a good pic of an old native women?? No chance.

Really nice Moni, she really is alive. The aged flesh is unsymetrical and beautifully done. The bones are perfect and you achieved your goal for me.My Nan was the most beautifull person for me ever.An elderly gem like your model.Really really great looking work.I think you can do humans no problems thanks very much ha .

Looking forward to seeing more of your work and learning something.Happy New Year, Cal

Dear Moni!
Happy new year! and you start it with some beautiful posts!
i like that!!!

I really dig the Sioux bust,
Great work on the expression Moni!
Are you going to put some paint on Her?
Best regards
Fernando Kuhlmann

somehow i saw the old lady on cghub  great work for so far. hm, but at the moment i miss some more happiness in her face i think it’s not the right facial expression for now, if she really has to be happy. she’s more kinda this smiley  not really happy not really sad  but i like her.

Very nice…can you show us on how you make the hair? Looking great so far!

Happy New Year!!! Hope you had a great time!!!
The alien looks great-looking forward to seeing the development on that one!
Also, great, great work on the sioux bust, I like the fact that it’s still reasonably low-poly, but already reads great and contains a lot of detail/information :sunglasses: :+1: ! It’s gonna’ be awesome when finished!

great last one man:D :+1: :+1:

Hi Moni, great study, looks wonderful.

Hey Moni, awesome sketchbook, I LOVE your humpatiki project. Very playful and expressive characters. Thanks for the matcaps, I’m really digging ‘Pearl’.

Love the final owl pic. I love your paint job on that pic. I hope you were able to get it to your sister-in-law.
Oh how you work them zspheres is what really gets me with that native braid and all the other zsphere things you have done in the past. I tried once to make a braid that way, you should of seen the mess I made. I can handle the new zspheres in 3.5r3 now though (well a little better anyway lol), but your zsphere technique is really something.
I will send you some native pics very soon in an email if ya need, I got a lot. I am a very small percentage of native, more spirit though than blood. I really love the people and the culture. I am really glad you are doing this pic. I like her personality that is in her face.
Love the alien, like the shape of him and the tall head.
Hope your Christmas and New Years was very Happy and Merry for you and your loved ones and all the best wishes to you.

beautiful new sketches Moni - Happy New Year  looking forward to what you come up with in 2010!

Umm… you say you have problems modeling humans. I’m afraid I just don’t see that! :stuck_out_tongue: Looks pretty cool to me so far.

Now it’s my turn to ask… what material is that you are using?

Happy New Year btw
