Actually I was done with this poject more than a week ago but then Zbrush 3.5 R3 came out… and… yep, I just had to experminent with it. The new polish brushes are awesome. I used them for the lantern and a little bit here and there. I also decided to polypaint the whole model because I love the new paint brushes. It`s so easy and so much fun to paint with them.
Here are some pics of the polypainted model. Humpatiki is very white at the moment but Ive already started working on an illustration in PaintStop. The final pic will hopefully look like its night… fullmoon mood…and of course the fireflys need to glow at the end.
Im going to post it when its done.

I’m so happy you finished these guys before anything else! You know how much I loved the concept drawing when you first posted it. You did a great job: you managed to bring your (angular) drawing style into the sculpt and you did an awesome job at sculpting stylized human(ish) and animal(ish) anatomy. But most important: these guys are full of life (great expressions) and I love the way they interact with each other. Would be so cool if you’d do a turntable of this scene - heck - every character deserves to be in it’s own turntable!
Let’s see what Yona thinks of all this… he has to send you the Nightmaker print!!!
