Any good artist is his own toughest critic.
I really like the figure… for what its worth, I feel that adherence to strict anatomical accuracy (and even more so, photorealism) detracts from the ability to communicate, (evoke, emote, express, whatever), through one’s work.
That’s not a knock against the talented ZBrushers that do it so well. I truly admire their rigor and dedication… and realize that often their livelihoods depend on it. I also subscribe the notion of being steeped in solid fundamentals before one goes wandering off…
All that said — and I strongly suspect I’m boring your with what you already know, as evidenced in your work — it is a really good idea to ultimately let go and wander… that’s where art lives.

Loving this thread a lot, and would recommend that people go through all its pages. You have a sketchy style that is very impressive, as not many can pull this kind of thing off well. It seems to come very naturally to you.
