Models for FullBlast Game

Hi People, we’re about to release our game FullBlast for both iOS and Android devices (hopefully on October 1th).

Here you can see some of the models which I made for this project (Ztools + final ingame models).

Love the cartoon style render. Is that ZB also?

Thanks for your comment LynneMitchell :), I rendered it in Zbrush using the ‘silver pearl’ material from the matcap library, but I added the outline in Photoshop.

It’s so weird seeing such high poly models being projected back onto such low poly meshes!

@TanTekWeng: To create handpainted textures with the same level of detail takes more or less the same time, and I enjoy more the sculpting work than the painting one :P, moreover this technique has some advantages such as get seamless textures and prevent the UV distortion.

Did you end up using normals at all?

@Fabian3224: I didn’t use normals at all, we wanted to have a good performance on most devices and decided to keep the shading as simple as possible (just diffuse on the ships and diffuse+lightmap on the environments).
