Modeling At Scale

I need to know how to start a model at the correct size, for example if I’m modeling a 6 foot tall man I want my model to be that size. I’m seeing a lot of pixelation in my models lately which leads me to believe that I may be starting too small. Also I experienced some lack of resolution even at level 6 subdivision while using the standard brush to add detail. Any help on this would be appreciated.

the physical scale of your mesh has nothing to do with the amount of pixelation you see in your viewport. It’s feasible you’re talking about the size of your zbrush document, and the aliasing of the viewport there. any specific issues you’re having would be better understood with screenshots…

also- to start a mesh at a particular scale, such as 6 feet, you will need to start the base in an app that has a physical scale component such as max, maya, or xsi.

Thanks but I guess I’m looking for a general rule of thumb on this, what determines a model to be too small?, how can I tell? and how can I adjust it? I started a model and everything is fine but there was one area where no matter how many times I subdivided the model I couldn’t smooth it and every time I tried to use the smooth brush it’s like I’m running my finger through a bunch of pebbles and not clay. Even though the rest of the model is smooth and very easy to deal with. PLease help!
