Model looks like crap when I zoom.

K I’ve read the documentation and I can’t figure this one out. I increased the document size as high as it goes and I increased the antialiesing though it dosn’t seem to make a diffrence and my model still looks like crap when I zoom in. What am I doing wrong.

Here’s a pic.

You need to set your document size before you start adding pixols. Also setting the Document : Width and Document : Height is not enough, you need to press Document : Resize to apply the settings.

Remember that when zooming in (+/- keys) you are zooming in on pixols which in this case act the same as pixels in photoshop, i.e aliasing along edges become more apparent the more you zoom.

A general practice is to set the canvas dimensions to double your intended output and press the Transform : AAhalf button to resize and antialiase the canvas before Document : Export.

Thanks. Is thier a way to make the document size bigger then 4096? Thats the biggest zbrush will let me go. I’m trying to make a displacement map and I really need to get super close to the model so I can draw on individual scales and such. Currently Z brush dosn’t let me zoom that close and keep the quality I need. I want to export at 5000x5000

Alternativly can I scale the model up work on one section and scale it back down or something? If I could get just the head to be 5000 by 5000 that would work.

The most fundamental thing that you’re doing wrong in this instance is that you’re trying to scale the canvas rather than the model. That causes pixelation. While in Edit mode, you will see a Scale button on the right shelf (there are also Move, Spin, and Rotate buttons). Click on the Scale button and drag up or down to resize the model.

You can also use the Alt key.

If you hold the Alt key while clicking and dragging on the canvas, you will move the model around the canvas. If you press Alt, click, release Alt, and then drag you will scale the model instead of moving it. (This sounds much more complicated than it actually is :))

YES!!! Thank you. That fixes all my problems
