Model dropped mid paint

This has happened a couple of times and I’m at a complete loss as to why it does it.

I will be in polypaint, moving around the model, painting, rotating model, sampling colour, etc

then one time I go to rotate the model and it has dropped one model onto the canvas and I’m rotating a duplicate

Each time I have to close file, not save, reload file and redo all that work - why is it doing this?

I’m losing hours of work and no idea why.

@magilla

This will happen if you hit “Shift+S” which will drop a copy to the canvas (Snapshot) while still keeping the original active. When this happens, all you have to do is hit “Ctrl+N” to clear the canvas and get rid of the duplicate. Then you can continue on with editing the mesh. This is normal behavior and has to do with the 2.5D aspect of ZBrush.

This was mentioned in your post here.

Cheers ZBER2 - I guess I must be hitting that key combo somehow. Just happened again, was sure my fingers were planted firmly on the c (colour picker) and Alt keys.

Thanks for pointing out I can just nuke the doc and keep on trucking - that has saved me heaps of time and given me some peace of mind to keep working with my sausage fingers without losing heaps of work.
