Model blows up in zbrush when re import from maya

I’m using zbrush 3.1 still.

I exported my model to fix my model’s UV map in Maya 2009, but when I reimport it again to Zbrush, it keeps blowing up.

I’ve tried exporting from zbrush with merge uv selected. I’ve also tried exporting with groups selected.

In maya I’ve tried to export with groups on and off, neither seem to be working. It keeps blowing up!

I’ve even tested doing all this without even playing around with my UVs, but I’m pretty confident you’re allowed to move UV’s around. I haven’t added any faces or any geometry to my model at all when re importing to zbrush. So not sure whats going on here.

When you import your model into Maya make sure you go into the import options and change the type from best guess to Obj. Then make sure create multiple objects is unchecked. From there just layout your UVs, export it as an obj when you’re done and import it back into Zbrush.

That should fix the problem.
