Just doing the Mkworkshop hard surfaces Zbrush workshops Its a really good guide!
Looks like your having fun, nice start. Your grip and trigger guard need some work but Im sure your aware of that.
What the name full of the tutorial or guide your using? any links to it?
This looks awesome!
Hardsurface work in Zbrush intimidates the hell out of me.
I agree with Adam, the trigger guard just needs to be straightened out a bit - looks a tad shaky.
Once you get that nailed down, it’ll be perfect! Great work!
@AdamRodgers - This is on www.zbrushworkshops.com - check it out, GREAT Zbrush tutorials.
Thanks guys, I am still working on it I am just up to the main body and front with barrels. next the handle, trigger and guard. Hard surfaces are intense because it requires a lot of patients to put everything together but thats the fun as well
Here is the link to the work shop http://www.zbrushworkshops.com/home.html
Thanks for the link guys.
I have to say to coreyschroeder, don’t be scared of HS in ZB, its actually very well suited to the task if you just make sure you have a few techniques and habits in mind.
Almost always a good idea to Edgeloop and Grouploop (give you greater edgecontrol), make sure clip brushes have polygroups activated (hit spacebar and select from BR/PG) and play around enough and it becomes instinctive to know when to use Shadowbox/Extract or trims to get the shapes you desire.
Not wanting to step on the toes of the MK Workshop - but thought Id make my suggestions to how Id do things, feel free to let us know what they suggest though.
For instance the grip - I think Id personally make the core with flat sides using shadowbox, clip the edges to get a nice sharp shape, then mask and extract the sides to create the more complex curve of the actual grips.
Trigger guard Id shadowbox the overall shape, unmask the middle to get the cutout, then again Id use the clip brushes to get a nice clean cutout.
I have only just gone to 4r4 though so with things like Dynamesh Im sure there are multiple ways to create these shapes with ease.
Lets see some progress, and maybe tone down the white background just a little for ease of viewing jivartsstudio.
Thanks for the tips Adam Great advice the lesson pretty much cover the same process you mention.
Here is were its at now just a few little bits and pieces to add but its getting there around 8 hrs of work.
Biggest I faced was smaller details were the poly groups like to bunch up together!

Hi Ryan Thanks for your encouragement and the great workshop, look forward to doing some more the hair workshop looks unreal! I had to put the completed MP5K on a new thread as well so if you got time let me know if I got an A or D
Just a question when I tried to extract the chamber by -0.2 it kept exploding inwards and outwards is this because I had no Morph Target?
