MK vs DC Universe - Raiden & Baraka

wow, very nice!

Raiden looks sweet.

Surprised you had to rush it, since these are main character models.

Nice, It’s cool to see the models on here and the wire frames. Raiden and Baraka are the characters I use the most.

I love MK games, MK vs DCU is one of the best MK’s to date IMO. The models came out nice and I like the game play. Kind of like a mix of MK4 and the later games.

Just a couple days ago I made a sculpt of Baraka’s head for fun.

It’s on my deviant art account if you want to have a look.

I love the art work in MK games.

Wow, very impressive models …this deserves to be on top Row!!! :+1: :+1:

Same here, loved MK games since childhood(didn’t become violent from it! :p)
Ahh, I remember nights in the smoke filled bowling alleys playing MK2(Still kind of my favorite)

Anyhow, love the models. You should post more of your work in general

great works !..i was a big fan of MORTAL KOMBAT…it was full of creativity…love the Rayden !

I didn’t have any violent results from playing MK either, more like the opposite. I’m pretty desensitized, gore doesn’t get much of a reaction from me, but I’m one of the most mellow people around, very passive.

Thanks everybody for the warm feedback. And I am glad some of you have interest in the game

Smooth_Criminal: Thanks! Actually, Raiden was 7 days, but Baraka was 2 weeks. This was more reasonable.

digitalsmithy: Thanks a bunch! I appreciate the comments.

JJP3D: Glad you like it. I always envisioned Raiden as being an old dude, so it was fun for me to age him a bit.

alphagsv: thx

undoz: What kept me from not burning out? Red Bulls. Hehe. Honestly, it was a fast sprint, but a short one, so it was cool.

cass83:Thanks bro, I am glad you like him!

Duan Nai: Thanks. Topology worked pretty well with our rig system. My friend and colleague Ian Naud did a great job on weighting Baraka, so it looks very interesting when animated.

gelfling status:Thanks a lot. It is always a big challenge to re-work franchise characters, especially as ancient as these 2 dudes.

DELTATHUND3R: Thx! Glad you like them.

Pooop: Chainmail is still in  It was even illustrated (and mentionned in his making-of) by Alex Ross for the Kollector’s Edition. I was quite honored to have one of my characters illustrated by him.

shinja: Glad you like the sculpts!

MaxAlbert: Merci bien, mec!

JesseGraffam: thx!

Kravit: Raiden was a particular situation, but these short deadlines were not the case for most other characters, fortunately.

GabeM: Thanks for sharing your enthusiasm  Your Baraka’s sculpt is pretty sweet. good job!

SolidSnakexxx:Thanks for the support

CorDox: MK2 is probably the game I spent the most money on. Good old arcade days… I’ll post more work in a bit. Separate thread though, since it is not MK related.

skulll_monster: Glad you like Raiden!

Again, thanks a lot to everybody that took the time to look at my work, and especially to people who took time to comment on it

very impressive models :+1: :+1: :+1:

Awesome work, especially in such short amount of time…GREAT. I also dig your Chancellor Palpatine on your homepage, very nice details…a little bit more time I guess;)
