Mismatch points error

When I Export a level 1 OBJ out of Zbrush, then open it in Maya and re-export it (making no changes at all) I get the following error…

“mismatch points-order in the imported mesh was detected and auto-corrected”

This does not make sense as I have made no changes. Of course, its pointless to import the exact same thing back on to itself, but unfortunately this is the case for everything I export out of Maya (like when I adjust the UV’s)…and in the case of the altered UVs, it does not actually correct anything, the model is unchanged (no new UV mapping appears to show me the model has actually switched to my prefered version).

Are there some strange specific settings I am unaware of? What should the import/export settings be in both programs to make them behave? Does anyone have any ideas as to how to solve this?

Are you using GoZ?

No, Im still using Zbrush 3.5 R3 because of compatibility issues with our previous files here at work. I am just exporting the mesh using the button in the tool menu.

Make sure you have “create multiple objects” turned off in maya’s .obj import settings. It is on by default.

I am using Maya 2009, and I do not see that specific option in the import dialogue box. It has “group” as a checkbox, and “remove duplicate shading networks” in addition to “preserve references” and “use namespaces”.

Is there some other place I am not looking?

Pretty new to maya huh?

You need to change the file type from “best guess” to “.obj” then the option will be at the bottom of the dialogue box.

Lol, yes…I took a long sidetrack into softimage XSI, and much of the small details about Maya I have forgotten. Thank you! That did the trick.
