Mirroring Mesh Help!

I’m modeling a person and came across a problem I hope is easily solvable, however I’m new to Z-brush. I started in z-spheres and then created an adaptive skin. I’m now on subdivision 4 with smoothing turned off. I was editing the right hand of my human when I noticed I had accidentally turned of x-symmetry. The rest of the body is fine, but one hand is much more detailed than the other. ----My question is, is there a way to mirror the more detailed hand onto the other side of the body, so that they match?

Thank you.

You can use ‘Mirror And Weld’ in Tool > Geometry. The good side has to be on the left. If it’s not, go to Tool > Deformation and on the Rotate slider, turn off Z axis and turn on Y axis. Click on “Rotate” to get a red box and type in 180 and hit Enter. This will put the good side on the left. Now go to Tool > Geometry and with ‘Mirror And Weld’ on X axis, click ‘Mirror And Weld’. Now go back to Tool > Deformation and Rotate your mesh back 180.

Thank you for your help, I did everything you suggested. However when I click “Mirror and Weld” under geometry, I get the error message: “Note: This function cannot be applied to a mesh with multiple subdivision levels.”

This is my first time modeling, I’m in Subdivision 4. Here’s a screenshot.

Thanks again.

Mask off the half of the model you want to mirror and in the Tool / Deformation pallete use the Smart Re-sym button

Thanks Richard!

Mirror And Weld is a more accurate solution and if you only have one subdivision level, use it. If you have more than one subdivision level then you will have to use Smart Resym as Richard suggested.

Thanks Richard and Zber, I was able to fix my problem using the “smart re-sym” button. I appreciate your guys’ help and quick responses!
