Mirror problem - Mirror seems to be stretching across axis rather than mirroring

Hi,

Wondering if anyone has any insight into this problem. I’m trying to mirror a subtool, but instead of mirroring it across the axis, ZBrush seems to be stretching it across the axis. I chose another subtool just to trouble shoot and that one mirrored as expected … so it seems that there’s something wrong with this subtool : / But I’m not sure where to look to see what might be wrong. Any input would be appreciated. (pictures attached)

I think I figured it out (in case it helps any one else). It seems like the kind of problem that comes up if you mask part of a subtool and try to mirror the subtool. Still seems like a glitch b/c the parts that were stretching were not masked. Even though I didn’t have anything masked, I cleared as if I had a mask (Cmd + click and drag with mouse). Mirroring worked as expected after that.
