Mirror and Weld Error

Hi all,

I’m fairly new to ZBrush and I’ve been working on a T-Rex model.

I recently appended a sphere to the model as a sub tool to use as the eye. However when I try to use mirror and weld under edit topology I receive the following error:
“The resulting 3D mesh does not contain any polygons. Operation cancelled.”

I’ve tested starting a fresh project with a basic cylinder and appending a sphere to it then mirror and weld and received the same error.

Can anyone help figure out what’s going wrong?
Is there something I have to do first before mirroring and welding?

(Please note that I haven’t added any sub-division levels to the sphere).

Thanks in advance for any help you guys can offer.

You are getting that error because zbrush, by default only mirrors from ONE axis to another. You are trying to mirror from the opposite axis, which zbrush does not support by default.

If you use these zscript macro packs that Joseph Drust wrote, it will fix the issue for you.

Download those macros and run Macro > MirrorandWeld2. You should then get the result you are looking for.

Awesome thanks dude that’s fixed it!

Much appreciated
