Minotaur (Tutorial Link in First Post)

His work has nothing to do with his opinion.

I completely agree with him to be honest. The modeling is terrific. The texture was executed very well. However it is simple. Everything is the same from the bullets leading into the gun, to the tubes, to the screws, and all the panels. He has these great little details that almost get lost due to the majority of it being the same color, to me it’s starting to look like a statue.

Can’t a statue be a work of art?

That’s a silly question.

Maybe you should be asking, was it the intent of the artist to convey this piece as a statue?

Ah Lombo, we are kindred souls. I balked at the what I believed to be was an unduly harsh and unfleshed out critique by YUNZEE an you responded in kind by remarking that my opinion was silly. Well done lad.

“The material is a little simple”
“was it the intent of the artist to convey this piece as a statue?”

less is more ladies and gentlemen. The intent of a good artist is what we see. This leads to top row. Normally.

vfxart > Thank you very much! Today or tomorrow I will post a short tutorial on how I modeled and rendered Minotaur.
darkdevinci > I saw your sculpture and I liked it, but I think it needs some stronger and sharp lines or volumes because as is now is a little soft,
it might be a good idea to add some spider legs for sharp and straight lines?
NGVever > Thanks!
Brunel > Joints of this character I thought to be composed of several parts which together help to move limbs, the basic idea was to realize a high-tech look.
If I did done the joints in the classic way would not have the look of high-teck tehnology.
Riverbender > Thank you very much for yours nice words!
YUNZEE > Thanks! The materials I have treated more simply because they already had a very large amount of detail from the effect of worn paint, and if I would have added extra materials would have been all too full of details.
However the level of detail may be too high, I think.
Nancyan > Thank you man!
Lombos > Thanks! The response is similar to YUNZEE
michalis > Thank you very much! I really liked your sculptures and Z4 renderingS! Keep it up!

I love the modeling, it’s great. However, the texture on the first render is amazing!

You deserve top row! :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1:

This,to me is near perfect…the modeling and the textures.Especially that the textures are not overdone.
