Hello Mike, I also use this technique to a year and for me it is very valid, I think in my case I can block it better and make the changes quickly change the course of modeling when needed especially in inorganic modeling concepts as their congratulations loved the model! Fantastic!

Very nice design. Lots of interesting detail, but also enough simpler areas where we can rest our eyes. I think you struck a good balance. Well done
Hey Mike,
this is absolutely stunning.
About the studios, of course it depends on the industry, is it film, commercial or game?
I’ve worked several years in the commercial industry where everything has to be rushly done, on the other hand, sometimes we had weeks for researching. And in Games, on Crysis 2 we’ve spend weeks on each characters, so I don’t really get cherub’s post.
Maybe you’ve manage this in 2,5 weeks in a studio with a lot of overtime, but as I understand it’s a freetime project where the artist should enjoy the work process.
This is not only great modeling, but great design as well!
I bet the design and experimenting took most of the time. Also in a production environment with his full attention dedicated to it, he can probably whip all this out in a few days. assuming all the concept work is handed to him.
Quality is definitely more valuable than speed or quantity; and this WIP is a lot better than many finished works on this forum.
Your hard modeling style and technique is officially one of my reference for modeling along with the works of Alessandro Baldasseroni and Fausto De Martini, i’m learning a lot just watching at your wireframes so keep up the good work!
Maybe you already know, but the space marine gallery page on your website doesn’t display correctly
Have you made any more timelapse videos? Its fascinating watching you work from what I have seen.
nice hardsurface modeling and render…congratulations, i love it
Thanks guys,

Serial Number is a really Nice touch! MN
So these take a lot more time and more complicated for you than organic creatures? I plan on buying your tutorial very soon. The topology for this character must be a nightmare.
Arthaven: LOL are you kidding me?? have you seen his hulk model?!?!?
yo Mike!!!
super sikk update man. please keep posting more updates
p.s. love the latest renders man. looks like this space suit fellow is really making some progress
With those textures and renders, this is turning out to be your best piece yet. Frickin’ crazy, keep at it!
top row stuff
great going, can u post some references u used for panels and switches
Dude, so true! I just checked out your gallery on your website and was blown away by all your other works, organic ones too! You’re multitalented bro, I thought at first that you were only focused on hard-surface modelling but boy was I wrong!
If you just post a sketchbook of some of your best ZBrush works here, including the Hulk and otherwise, I can almost guarantee you a top-row, which is great exposure for getting a job by the way. Coz as I see it the hardsurface work is the only work you have posted on these forums. You must easily be able to get a job with your skills, and if you can’t we’re all screwed!
EDIT: What am I saying, you already have a top row! =) but still you should post your other organic works also I think, give the rest of community chance to see those too!
Keep it up man, great job on the latest!
I’ve seen them all and enjoy even his “weakest” ones more than most peoples best. I have a great love for organic anatomy but also for hard & soft character design. Hulk is not a design, it’s a phenomenal piece that illustrates emotion and great anatomy. While I love that piece a lot there’s a ton of people that are EXTREMELY great at anatomy that can pull the same thing off. This hard surface is outrageously conceptualized, even better refined from the concept and now getting some sick texturing along with the Mike Nash rendering touch (and it’s not even finished yet). All of that being said, not everyone that can pull the hulk off at that level can come back and do something original like this. It’s his own stamp and it’s purely unique, while the Hulk is an exceptional version of; The Hulk.
So YES
I believe this has the potential to be his best work. Besides, don’t we all strive for our newest pieces to be our best and an improvement on past attempts? I’m sure Mike doesn’t want to look back after another two years of work and an early piece is still outshining his new stuff.
Hey Mike
u still on this
u got some crazy patience
Looking cool man - like the colours aswell - interesting way of doing scuffs
Cheers guys, and thanks for the kind comments guys.
- FoOD - haha sure em, its an evolving piece.
Really pushing myself to come up with new ideas for constructing these types of models.
Arthaven - Thanks for the kind comments, didn’t think people thought this way about my work haha

That’s what I try and do with personal work, I build it to last.
Darukin - Cheers man
You can see the hulk posted here already(Hulk Statue), was posted under my old user(Kravit),it never made front page tho.
devow - The references I use are mostly motor bikes and car engines. I make the rest up as I go along, usually takes time to get it right.
Test renders, pretty dodgy. Also some fun with lights
Just sorting out shoulder and back details now.
