micromesh question [Answered]

Hi is there a way to save a plane insert brush with a micromesh so the micromesh renders every time i use the plane on a object or u have to select the micromesh everytime? thanks

I don’t think you can save a micromesh object with a plane and then apply it using an InsertMesh brush. What you could do is:

  1. Create a plane that is a single polygon.
  2. Apply the plane to an InsertMesh brush.
  3. Use the InsertMesh brush you have just created to add the plane numerous times to your sculpt.
  4. Break the sculpt into separate subtools using Groups Split. As the planes will all be one polygroup they will form a single subtool. (Make sure your sculpt is a single polygroup if you don’t want it split into several subtools.)
  5. For the planes subtool, apply a micromesh object, make sure Render>Render Properties>Draw MicroMesh is turned on and do a BPR render.

HTH,

thats what I have been doing but thanks for clearing that up
