Messed up symmetry

Hiya guys. Im trying zbrush out again and am working my way through the getting started guide that comes with the zbrush download atm. It wants me to make some one eyed blob thing but atm i seem to have migrated to some kinda bird head creature thing lol…anyways. I have symmetry on which has worked fine up to this point. Problem is, I started zbrush this morning and noticed that its acting strange…sometimes when I edit the model on one side little or nothing happens on the other side. I seem to get small changes if i really work on one side but its not symmetrical. Any ideas what I might have done to mess this up? Also…it seems that different parts of the model have this problem to greater/lesser extents

You could have done a couple of things. You might have turned off Symmetry in the Transform menu at one point and kept on sculpting on one side. Easy enough to do because you only have to hit X key to turn it on or off. Also, it’s possible that you might have moved it off of symmetrical center. To fix it, go to Transform menu and click S.Pivot button to put it back on the symmetrical center, then go to Deformation submenu and click Smart ReSym.

Maybe I had hit X at some point and messed up that way. How would i have moved it off of the symmetrical center? Just asking as i dont know lol…seemed like you move the model all over just to look at it so not sure how i moved it away from the point it figures out symmetry from.

Moving the Offset slider in the Deformation submenu will move it off center.

hmm, I don’t recall doing anything in the deformation menu yet really. So many menus to possibly look at in this program lol. Thanks for the help man. Will just try to make sure I don’t accidentally graze X on future skulps. Thanks again
