Okay, just wondering what happened to the the mesh preview when loading tools? I used to be able to see a preview of what I’m about to load. Now If I’m looking for a specific iteration of my ztools, I have to load every one of them to figure out which one is the right one…
The preview was removed from 3.5. I’m not sure of the reason or if it will be making a comeback. You might use LightBox to browse your folders instead, as it gives bigger and better previews, such as those you see across the top of the screen when you first launch 3.5.
but you can’t sort by modified.
i have to agree with space on this one with out the ability to sort it by date modified it makes it difficult to find depending on what you named it… i hope we can either bring back the preview window or be able to have lightbox support organize tools by date modified comes in handy for finding the last tool you worked on… this will come in handy if we ever have a non corrupted version auto file recovery right now seems to be broken but i do like the idea of never losing work ever again so i hope this is fixed…
I always save iteratively with everything. I’ve lost too many files so I learned the hard way.
hulk_v001.ztl
hulk_v002.ztl
etc
tRex_displace_v001.tif
Haven’t used Lightbox, but I assume it would keep these files in order, same as Explorer or Finder.
Yea, being able to sort by date is a must for me. It’s pretty much how I browse all my files. Also, how do I change drives in lightbox? I’m trying to get to my external harddrive E and it doesn’t seem to want to get out of default C…
dustin, although i agree with saving ztools as iterations it really is not the best method for saving materials or anything else.
lightbox needs some sort of sort by type and sort by modified to be really useful.
Also, If we’re to start using lightbox to open ztools, it would be nice to have the option to see files without thumbnails. I usually have hundreds of iterations in one folder and browsing all of them just to find the last one is a little cumbersome.
I’m also looking for an answer to this as I save all my data on my D and F drives, not C…
griegg, you need to add shortcuts from the other drives into the drive that zbrush is stored on.
lightbox needs some sorting options, modified, and type among others.
