mesh moving when reimporting into subtool

Hi

I have a sculpt which I needed to tweak UVs on. After exporting to max, tweaking them (and only the uvs, not the model), then reimporting into the lowest level of my sculpt the model moves slightly and consequently explodes if you try to go up and down sub divisions.

I realize this has been an issue for people but I’ve not really found a solution- is there one?

This is surely something people would need to do quite a bit?

thanks:cry:

Thanks for the reply

I should maybe have stated that my sculpt was from a base mesh of polygons- the only time I’ve heard of using adaptive skin is when using z spheres so I’m not sure how to incorporate this method.

As a test I cloned the sculpt- appended it in as a subtool and exported that- hoping it would inherit the proper transforms of the parent - but after exporting from fixing the uvs in max 2009 the mesh just moved again.

I can get the mesh moving up the subdivisions but it breaks zmapper
