Mesh holes?

Hi guys, sometimes when I go to polish a mesh, I end up getting little holes in the mesh like this:

All I did here was to grab a cube, make it into a polymesh, subdivide it, warp it with the transpose tool and then polished…anyone know how i prevent that?

If you turn on Polyframe (Shift+F), you will see that the hole is right on a pole of the cube. This happens when you subdivide anything with poles. The sphere will do the same thing. To get a cube without poles, select the 3DCube primative and make it a Polymesh 3D. Then go to ‘Tool > Unified Skin’ subpalette, turn Resolution to 16 and Smooth to 0 then click ‘Make Unified Skin’ button. You will now have a cube without poles in the Tool palette with the prefix “Skin” (Skin_PM3D_Cube).

Ahh gotcha…that worked! I’m so used to importing meshes into ZBrush, I just assumed the primitives would work as is. Thanks so much! :+1:
