Hi.
I’m not able to create mesh extractions. I don’t know what is wrong. I’ve never had trouble before but now I’m missing something. I have been using 4R2b and thought that was the problem but I’ve updated to 4R3 and still can’t extract.
Here’s what I’m doing:
Model must be a polymesh 3D. When drawing masks for extraction, Rgb Intensity value must be at least 50 to work at all but should always be set to 100 for mask creation. Changing Focal Shift (while pressing Ctrl) changes the sharpness of the mask. -100 gives a crisp mask but higher, positive, numbers give an increasingly blurred mask. Extracting a -100 (Focal Shift) mask gives a crisp extraction with clean edges. Extracting a ‘0’ (Focal Shift) mask (a blurred mask) gives usable but irregular edges. Not a bad thing, just a different effect. The higher the model’s subdivision level, the more resolution you have, the sharper the mask. Make extraction a polymesh 3D. Be sure to clear mask after operation.
That’s always worked before.
Now, when I push the Extract button, I can ‘see’ the extraction on screen, but no subtool attaches to the main tool and when I rotate the model the extraction disappears. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks!
~S.~
