Mesh extraction (model seems to poke through)

I’m a super-newb, so please forgive me if I’m not making perfect sense.

Whenever I extract a mesh that isn’t extra-thick, it looks as if parts of the original model are poking through.

This was done with default settings, and the thickness set to .024, I think.

When I look at the icon for this in the tool menu, the extraction doesn’t look mottled, but whenever I manipulate it, try to paint it, etc., it looks like it does in the attached pic.

Any ideas?

Which version number of ZBrush are using? The full number is in the title bar.

It’s not uncommon at low thickness for parts of the original mesh to poke through. This is easily handled, though. Simply make sure that the extracted SubTool is selected and then use the Move or Standard brush to fix the problem areas. Or in some cases you might use the Inflate deformation instead.
