Merging subtools to UV in 3D package causes UV import problems

Hey guys !!
I have around 60 subtools and I merged them all in their lowest subdivision level in order to UV them in my 3D package and export them individually afterwards.
For some reason if I go to my original Zbrush file and try to import the UVed objects to each and every subtool all topology has been changed according to ZBrush and needs reprojecting. My guess is that merging subtools causes a change in vertex order or something of the sort.
How can I fix this?

What I can do is export each subtool individually to my 3D package and project the new UVs to them there, however, it takes way longer :\

Thanks !

I think it’s more likely that your other 3D program is changing the vertex order on export. You can test the ZBrush merged model like this:

  1. Shift+Ctrl+click on one of the polygroups (assuming the merged subtools are one polygroup each).
  2. Export as OBJ.
  3. Select original subtool and import the OBJ.

You can also use UV Master to UV merged subtools like this:

  1. Use Transpose Master to create a merged version of your model at the lowest subdivision level by pressing the Transpose Master>TPoseMesh button. The advantage of using Transpose Master is that it creates one polygroup for each subtool.
  2. Unwrap in UV Master.
  3. Shift+Ctrl+clik on a polygroup. This isolates that subtool.
  4. Press UV Master>Copy UVs.
  5. Select original subtool and press UV Master>Paste UVs.
  6. Repeat 3-5 for other subtools.
