Merge Map problem [Answered]

I modeled an armor with 8 different subtools and now i want to extract all 8 textures/NM on one map using Multi Map Exporter/Merge maps. The problem is they are overlapping even after i scale each and every one of them while flatten, tho they do change the position but the size goes back to original state after unflattening them.
Please help iv lost 2 days trying to find an answer on YT and forums and no one is showing Merge Map option just a single extract of one texture.

UV Master will automatically resize the UVs to fit the available space which means it won’t work with what you are trying to do. There is a solution (although note it will create new UVs):

  1. With your model selected, press Tool>SubTool>All Low to set all subtools to their lowest subdivision level.
  2. Check that the Transpose Master ‘Grps’ switch is OFF, then press the Zplugin>Transpose Master>TPoseMesh button. We’re using Transpose Master just to combine all your subtools at their lowest subdivision level.
  3. Use UV Master to create new UVs. Make sure the Polygroups option is on.
  4. Press Tool>SubTool>Split>Groups Split. This will split the single mesh into subtools based on the polygroups. The resulting subtools should correspond with your original model.
  5. Select the top subtool and press Zplugin>UV Master>Copy UVs. As the subtool won’t be named correctly remember what it looks like.
  6. Switch to your original model and select the corresponding subtool. Press Zplugin>UV Master>Paste UVs.
  7. Repeat stages 5 & 6 for all the other subtools.

Thank you:) works perfectly now.

Thanks!!

Is there anyway to preserve the polypaint on each of the subtools that have separate maps? The new uv messed all the poly painting up and now it does not fit and looks weird. HELP!

thanks,
Karen

Karen,

The polypaint should still be there - UVs do not affect it. Make sure that an texture maps are turned off in the Tool>Texture Map sub-palette, and that Colorize is turned on in the Tool>Polypaint sub-palette.

HTH,

Thanks so much! I don’t know where we would be without help from each other, thanks for being there!
