for some reason the merge button has suddenly disappeared. maybe i accidentally hide it? any suggestions how i can retrieve the button?

Have you customized your UI? Did you try closing ZBrush and reopening? Have you rebooted? Did you try Restore Standard UI?
thanks, yes i restored my custom UI. But still no merge button. i think the file is corrupt. as when i open other zpr. files, the merge button is there. i have just had to export each subtool as an OBJ. and piece them together i a new document
That’s weird. Glad you got sorted. My big peeve is LightBox, everything looks ok, hit save UI and there it is, now open glaring at me. :rolleyes: Assumed, because it hadn’t been set to open on launch, it would stay like that.
The reason is that you have a ZSphere selected in the subtool list. ZSpheres (and Primitives) can’t be merged as they are and need to be made into polymeshes first. (For ZSpheres you can do this by using the Make Adaptive Skin button.)
