Meet Minky

I decided to move out of monster makers thread abd start a new one. I was inspired by monstermaker to do somthiing based on the “Resemblances” book by charles le brun. It started out based on his monkey man but evolved into somthing else. Zbrush and XSI

I like him. I’m glad I inspired to do it . Hey, maybe between the two of us we can inspire more zbrushers to do the rest of the animal men in his book. I’de love to see that .How did you do the hair ? is that an XSI thing?Modeling the hair on mine was kind of time consuming. I almost didn’t do it because I figured that I paint over it later anyways. I’ll probably get back to mine tomorrow. You go man post some more stuff.

Did he write the Island of Dr. Moreau (sp?) or something else? My mind fades these days for sure…the image looks great!

That sounds like a challenge. And, it’s not even Monday Night yet!

Great work on this, by the way. Very striking image. I see wisdom and madness fighting behind those eyes.

Thanks!,

Yes I did the hair in XSI, as well as rendered there. It was based on a base head mesh that I have been using for all my humanoid heads for zbrush and XSI.

I did a little work on it to day, the shirt is temporary for now.

This is really neat. It’s almost creepy in a way. It’s like so close to being a human, but it’s not! I think it’s the eyes, they’re so lively. The skin looks like it could use a bit more specular highlights, but its really not that bad.

I like it!

Very impressive figure
Sketches of Charles Lebrun in french but slide the page for the drawings
