Hi all, I got permission to share a sculpture I did recently for Siggraph that we’re going to be using to show off our new software Atom View.
Here’s the teaser:

It’s a take on the classic battle of Medusa vs Perseus with more of a hardcore/Heavy Metal style. It also gave me a chance to try out the new ZBrush 4R8 and I was pretty blown away by how powerful the application has become. I actually don’t think it would have been possible to do the sculpture without ZBrush just because of how large the scene became (100+ million polygons), but it ended up being pretty effortless. I could have actually crammed in a lot more details but my time was fairly limited on this.
Everything in the teaser was captured in real-time inside of Atom View. Here’s some stills below also taken from Atom View that show off a bit of the interface.
I’ll be able to share more details about the application leading up to Siggraph, but basically, it allows you to get true offline render quality in 3d in real-time (including VR). Seeing the full 100 million polygon sculpture with GI lighting in VR is super exciting and I can’t wait for ZBrush users to get their hands on it when we go into closed beta soon after Siggraph. If you have any questions feel free to ask
