I could really use some help, i’ve got my model complete in zbrush but want to export the displacement maps for my animation mesh, when i tried to use MD2 to export them, my maps are all funked up, can anyone help?
seems to be when i try to export 32 bit maps, the 16 bit maps work fine
If you’re trying to open the 32 bit maps in an image editor to look at them, it probably won’t work right. With a few exceptions, a 32 bit map can only be loaded into your rendering engine.

now that i have my maps working, i am having trouble rendering them. Using maya i have my displacement map color balance settings at alpha gain 2.2, alpha offset1.1 . my model sort of blows up when i render it, all fat and sphery totally unrecognizable, can anyone help?
ahh, thats because your offset should be the negative half of your gain.
start with the recommended 1, and -0.5, then go up from there (always using the negative recipprocal of your gain for offset)
