Hey guys,

this is looking good man. it would prob be easier if u just paste in the links so the images show up without having to click on them individually. keep it up!
Wow, you are off to a really great start. The anatomy is looking really good so far. Just a few things that stand out to me at the moment.
Looks like the forearms could be beefed up a little compared to those huge biceps. Something to keep in mind is not only how the muscles look on the frame, but how they develop based on how and what they are used for. If he is a warrior/hunter, he’s probably gonna need to be lifting, climbing, gripping and twisting, things like that, so he would have forearms that are sized accordingly and visually flow in size with the biceps. They don’t look too bad head on, but from the side they look understated.
His feet could be a little wider too, big frame, would have a bigger base to keep balanced. Also the lower legs, shin and calf area, look off. They should be more convex on the inner side instead of concave, mostly from lowering the calf muscle a little and reworking the shin muscles. If he’s gonna be running alot, he would probably have closer to sprinters legs. Here’s an example:

Overall the arm anatomy is really close, there are just a few places that are off by just a little bit. But I feel like you have a good eye for anatomy, and if you just keep looking at lots of reference pics and tweaking it, you will get it. Aside from the minor anatomy tweaks, the deltoids seem to be just a little too well defined for his body fat percentage. He isn’t fat, but his soulders have creases around the muscles, whereas none of the other muscles really do. Just soften up the creases a little bit and it will help alot.
I was also wondering what you were using for reference images. I was just thinking the face from far away looks kind of like a pissed off Ahhnold, but the body kind of reminded me of The Rock/Dwayne Johnson. He seems to have a similar build, especially when he was still wrestling and juiced up a little:

I really like the concept, and the sculpt is coming along really nice. I think you are going to have a great piece when it’s finished. Keep up the good work!
sweet thanks for the crit. I’ll go back and tweak some stuff.
I’ve got a question though. I was working on the pieces that hang down and I was going to use an alpha to project some detail onto the design. So when I draw the alpha on it turns out alright. But when I swing around to the other side of the model the inverse of the alpha is on the other side…any idea how to fix this. Is there a setting to change the distance that the alpha influences?
Looks fine here
good start indeed, I really like the sketchs and the warrior paint design. Keep on!!! Wanna see more!
Hi,
for the problem with the alpha, you’ll probably have to turn off the symetrie, it happend when you change some setting in the transform menu with pivot options.
my symmetry is off…and I haven’t touched any pivot options. anyone got any other ideas. I’ve tried it with the default cube as well and it does the same stuff. If I make the cube narrow like my plate it projects the inverse of the alpha to the other side.
To fix the Alpha from showing up in the other side of the object, you have to go to Brush and turn on BackfaceMas. That should fix it. Great design and sculpting on your character. I can’t wait to see more!
Yeah you definitely need to use backface masking. Used to happen to me all the time. It’s because the draw circle isn’t actually a circle, it’s a sphere, so anything within the sphere gets affected. Just be careful with it when you turn it on, and check to make sure it is still on every once in awhile. It can be turned off by undoing too far, and I seem to have problems with it turning off randomly every once in awhile too. Can be frustrating, but as long as you pay attention to it doesn’t become too big a problem.
antisymmetry thanks man. i knew it was a one button fix, just couldn’t find it
Very impressive so far! Amazing anatomy work and cool design!
